Das Vibraphon oder Vibrafon, ein Metallophon (Schlaginstrument), ist eine Weiterentwicklung des Marimbaphons mit abgestimmten Metallplatten und einer elektrisch angetriebenen Einrichtung am oberen Ende von Metallresonatoren, die durch periodisches Schließen und Öffnen eines Deckels einen Vibratoeffekt erzeugt.
