Vitellio
Sign in to saveAlso known as Aulus Vitellius, Aulus Vitellius Germanicus
ottavo imperatore romano (r. 69)
Vitellius was a Roman emperor who ruled for only eight months in AD 69, a chaotic year when four different men claimed the throne and civil war erupted across the empire. He is historically significant because his brief reign exemplifies the political instability of this period and shows how emperors competed for popularity by appealing to the memory of the popular emperor Nero.

Aulo Vitellio Germanico Augusto (in latino: Aulus Vitellius Germanicus Augustus; nelle epigrafi: A·VITELL·IMP·GERM·AVG; Nuceria Alfaterna, 6 o 24 settembre 15 – Roma, 20 dicembre 69), meglio conosciuto semplicemente come Vitellio, è stato l'ottavo imperatore romano.
