Walter Bishop Jr. (1927-1998) was a jazz pianist, composer, and teacher. (The senior Walter Bishop was a composer of popular tunes, including Louis Jordan's hit "Jack, You're Dead.") Following WWII, Bishop played and recorded with a wide array of jazz luminaries, such as Art Blakey and Stan Getz. As a leader, he recorded albums for Black Jazz, Muse, and others.
