War ist das 1983 veröffentlichte dritte Studioalbum der irischen Band U2. Produzent des Albums ist Steve Lillywhite. Es ist das erste Album der Band, das einen starken politischen Hintergrund hatte. Im Jahre 1989 wurde die Platte vom Rolling Stone Magazine auf Platz 40 der 100 besten Alben der 1980er Jahre gewählt. Später kam es auch in dessen Liste der 500 besten Alben aller Zeiten auf den 223. Platz. Das Album wurde U2s erstes Nummer-1-Album in Großbritannien und überholte dort Michael Jacksons Album Thriller. Als Besonderheit enthält das Album auf Compact Cassette das gesamte Album auf jeder Seite.
