William Withering (* 28. März 1741 in Wellington, Shropshire; † 6. Oktober 1799 in Larches bei Birmingham) war ein englischer Botaniker und Arzt. Er entdeckte die medizinische Wirkung der Digitalisglykoside. Er gab 1785 die Wirkung der Pflanze Digitalis auf das kranke Herz bekannt. Sein offizielles botanisches Autorenkürzel lautet „With.“
