Wolvega (Stellingwerfs: Wolvege, Fries: Wolvegea, ['volvəɡɪ.ə]?) is sinds 1835 de hoofdplaats van de gemeente Weststellingwerf in de Nederlandse provincie Friesland. Vanaf 1812 was Wolvega een aantal jaar een zelfstandige gemeente, maar op 1 oktober 1816 werd de gemeente van voor 1812 weer in ere hersteld. Met ca. 13.000 inwoners is het veruit de grootste plaats van de gemeente en de Stellingwerven.
