==Geography== Yame is located in mountainous southern Fukuoka Prefecture bordering Ōita Prefecture and Kumamoto Prefecture. The Yabe River, which flows from Mount Mikuni on the prefectural border, flows through Yabe into the Ariake Sea. The land has a basin-like topography.
