Hopea
Hopea is a genus of plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. It contains some 114 species, distributed from Sri Lanka and southern India to the Andaman Islands, Myanmar, southern China, and southward throughout Malesia to New Guinea. They are mainly main and subcanopy trees of lowland rainforest, but some species can become also emergent trees, such as Hopea nutans.
Dryobalanops
Dryobalanops is a genus of flowering plants and the genus of family Dipterocarpaceae. The name Dryobalanops is derived from Greek (dryas = a nymph associated with oaks and balanops = acorn) and describes the acorn-like nut. The genus has seven species, confined to the tropical forests of western Malesia (Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo). It is among the most abundant species of emergent trees in these forests, growing up to 80 m tall.

Monotes is a genus of flowering plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. Its name, meaning "unity" or "uniqueness" was chosen because it was the only genus of dipterocarp then known to occur in Africa. The Zambezian region is the centre of diversity for the genus.
Cotylelobium
Cotylelobium is a genus of plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. The name Cotylelobium is derived from Greek (kotyle = a small cup and lobos = a pod) and describes the receptacle. It contains five species distributed in Sri Lanka, Peninsular Thailand, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. All five species are listed on the IUCN redlist, as either vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered.

Parashorea is a genus of plant in family Dipterocarpaceae. The name Parashorea is derived from Greek (para = similar to) and refers to the genus similarity to Shorea.
It contains about 14 species distributed from South Myanmar, Thailand, Indo-China and the southernmost parts of China to Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines.

Upuna
Upuna is a monotypic genus of plants containing the single species Upuna borneensis. The genus name Upana is derived from its Iban name, upan. The species name borneensis refers to its distribution, being found only in Borneo. It is native to lowland mixed dipterocarp forests up to 400 meters elevation. It is a heavy hardwood similar to Vatica. While Upuna borneensis occurs in protected areas, it is threatened by logging, expansion of palm oil plantations and increasing frequency of fires.
Stemonoporus
Stemonoporus is a genus of plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. The genus is endemic to Sri Lanka. It contains 26 species, all but one confined to the perhumid forests of the island.
Neobalanocarpus
Neobalanocarpus is a monotypic genus of plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. The single species, Neobalanocarpus heimii, is a tropical hardwood tree. Common names for the tree and its wood products include chengal, chan ta khien, chi-ngamat, takian chan, and takian chantamaeo. The tree grows over tall. Chengal is considered the number one wood (classified as heavy hardwood) of Malaysia and export of logs is prohibited due to its scarcity. The species is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red list.
