The Amazônia-1 or SSR-1 (in Portuguese: Satélite de Sensoriamento Remoto-1), is the second Earth observation satellite developed entirely in Brazil, the first being the SCD series of earth orbiters launched in 1993 which are still in operation. Argentinian company INVAP supplied some components like the main computer, attitude controls and sensors. Brazilian scientists also exchanged information and gave inputs to the Argentine team in the development of such equipment to better suit their needs, and also received training on how to operate it.

ALSAT-1 is the first Algerian satellite and it is part of a group of satellites collectively known as the Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC). The satellite was built by a group of engineers from Surrey Satellite Technology (SSTL) and Algerian Centre National des Techniques Spatiales (CNTS). It was the first DMC satellite to be launched of the five to seven that are planned. The DMC was the first satellite constellation designed for that objective. MBRSC's objective with DubaiSat-2 is to provide electro-optical images, that can be commercialized, for users within the United Arab Emirates and beyond and to develop and implement new technologies not used in DubaiSat-1.
