12-crown-4
12-Crown-4, also called 1,4,7,10-tetraoxacyclododecane and lithium ionophore V, is a crown ether with the formula C8H16O4. It is a cyclic tetramer of ethylene oxide which is specific for the lithium cation.
enterobactin
Enterobactin (also known as enterochelin) is a high affinity siderophore that acquires iron for microbial systems. It is primarily found in Gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium.
cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene
Cyclododecatrienes are cyclic trienes with the formula C12H18. Four isomers are known for 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene. The trans,trans,cis-isomer is a precursor in the production of nylon-12.
tentoxin
Tentoxin is a natural cyclic tetrapeptide produced by phytopathogenic fungus Alternaria alternata. It selectively induces chlorosis in several germinating seedling plants. Therefore, tentoxin may be used as a potential natural herbicide, and is a lactam.

cyclododecanone
Cyclododecanone is an organic compound with the formula (CH2)11CO. It is a cyclic ketone that exists as a white solid at room temperature. Like its smaller analogs but unlike the larger ones, it has a camphor-like odor.
==History and synthesis==
It was first obtained by Ružička et al. in 1926 by ketonic decarboxylation. A higher-yield method by acyloin condensation was devised by Prelog et al. in 1947.
