== Preparation == center|frameless|360x360px|Synthesis of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol from cyclohexanone. 1-Ethynylcyclohexanol can be prepared from cyclohexanone by reacting it with sodium acetylide in liquid ammonia, followed by an acidic work-up.
