Alan García

Alan García, born Alan Gabriel Ludwig García Pérez in Lima in 1949, is a Peruvian politician, lawyer, writer, and jurist. He served as President of Peru and was a member of the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance. García was a candidate in the 1985 Peruvian general election. He is married to Pilar Nores and resides in Lima.

García received education from the Complutense University of Madrid, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, and Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3. His native language is Spanish. He has received the Hungarian Order of Merit, Order of the Liberator General San Martín, Grand Order of Mugunghwa, and Decoration for Exceptional Merits.

As a writer, García has authored works including *Ensayos sobre derecho y política*, *Globalization with social justice*, *Modernidad y política en el siglo XXI*, *Cuatro discursos fundamentales*, and *A los hombres de acción*.
