Aldo Rossi

Aldo Rossi (1931–1997) was an Italian architect, designer, urban planner, and screenwriter. Born in Milan, he was educated at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he also worked as an employee. Rossi was associated with the postmodern architecture movement and received the Pritzker Architecture Prize. His notable works include Teatro La Fenice, Opera Carlo Felice Genova, and the Bonnefanten Museum. He participated in documenta 8 and his works are held in collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Rossi authored several books, including *La ciudad análoga y otros escritos*, *Autobiografía científica*, and *Aldo Rossi in America*. He spoke Italian and worked primarily in Milan. He died in Milan in 1997 from an accidental death.
