Aldo Rossi

Aldo Rossi (1931–1997) was an Italian architect, designer, urban planner, and screenwriter born in Milan. He was educated at and employed by the Polytechnic University of Milan. A participant in the postmodern architecture movement, he was recognized in the Pritzker Prize collection and received the Pritzker Architecture Prize. His notable works include the Teatro La Fenice, Opera Carlo Felice Genova, and the Bonnefanten Museum.

Rossi’s works are held in the collections of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He participated in documenta 8. He was the author of works such as *La ciudad análoga y otros escritos*, *Autobiografía científica*, *Aldo Rossi in America*, *Aldo Rossi*, *Das Gesamtwerk*, and *Aldo Rossi : Prints 1973-1997*. He died in Milan from accidental death.
