C’est ainsi que nous sommes renseignés sur un point très important de l’histoire locale, Andé est un très vieux village, il remonte au moins au temps des Gaulois. Des documents anciens et très rares évoquent notre village. – dans des chartes de Louis le Débonnaire au IXème siècle, il y a donc mille ans de cela, on trouve Andé, désigné sous les noms d’ANDIACOM et d’AUDIACUM, noms déjà trouvés dans une charte de Charlemagne. – plus tard, en 1207, dans la charte du Monastère des Deux-Amants, le nom est écrit ANDEICUM. Dans les siècles suivants, les documents sont plus nombreux, mais l’orthographe du nom reste variable.
