Atri
Sign in to saveAtri or Attri is a Vedic sage, who is credited with composing numerous shlokas to Agni, Indra, and other Vedic deities of Hinduism. Attri is also founded in the Punjab state of India. This caste traces back to 1700's when a widespread of people had been separated into the Punjab region. After the separation, they were forced to adapt to their surroundings. Atri is one of the Saptarishi (seven great Vedic sages) in the Hindu tradition, and the one most mentioned in the Rigveda.

Atri est le nom de l'un des sept Rishi primordiaux mentionnés dans la Rigveda-samhita. Comme plusieurs autres Rishi (chantre-auteur des hymnes védiques), Atri est au départ une forme du dieu Agni.
