Băcești is a commune in Vaslui County, Western Moldavia, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Armășeni, Băcești, Băbușa, Păltiniș, Țibăneștii Buhlii, and Vovriești.
The commune is situated on the Moldavian Plateau, at an altitude of , on the banks of the Bârlad River. It is located in the northwestern extremity Vaslui County, on the border with Bacău County and Iași County. Băcești is crossed by national road , which connects it to Vaslui, to the southeast, and to Piatra Neamț, to the west.
