Also known as Várkerület, Budavár

The 1st District of Budapest is the Castle District ( or ) and is the historical part of the Buda side of Budapest. It consists of the Buda Castle Hill and some other neighborhoods around it, such as Tabán, Krisztinaváros and parts of Gellért Hill.

Der I. Bezirk der ungarischen Hauptstadt Budapest (ungarisch Budapest I. kerülete) liegt am westlichen Ufer der Donau. Mit dem Burgviertel, das seit 1987 Teil des UNESCO-Welterbes ist, bildet er das historische und touristische Zentrum von Buda. Er wird auch als Várkerület oder Budavár (deutsch „Burgbezirk“ bzw. „Budaer Burg“) bezeichnet.
