Encyclopedic overview
Punjab is an historical region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent. It is divided between the modern nation states of India and Pakistan, which both have states of this name. The Indian states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi are also part of the historic Punjab region.
