Cengiz Kurtoğlu (born 1959, Artvin, Turkey) is a new wave/synthpop artist. He is shortly known by the name Cengiz, the modern Turkish transcription of the name of Turco-Mongol warrior Genghis Khan. He worked as a civil servant at a tea factory in Artvin and then in 1982 migrated to Istanbul to make his dreams come true. In 1985 his first album "Sen Sözden Anlamaz Mısın?"
