Cher is an American actor and singer who performs in genres including pop rock, house music, disco, and rock music. Born Cherilyn Sarkisian in El Centro in 1946, she is a contralto vocalist. She was a member of the duo Sonny & Cher and has been married to Gregg Allman and Sonny Bono. Her children are Elijah Blue Allman and Chaz Bono.

Cher has received the Primetime Emmy Award, the Academy Award for Best Actress, Grammy Awards, and the Kennedy Center Honors. She is also recognized in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame collection. Her discography includes releases on Atco Records, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, and Warner Music Group. She has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and the European Film Award – People's Choice Award for Best European Film.
