Chicago è un musical americano del 1975. Diretto da Bob Fosse, con musiche di John Kander e testi di Fred Ebb (gli stessi autori di Cabaret e New York, New York), ebbe come sue prime interpreti Gwen Verdon (per un certo periodo sostituita da Liza Minnelli) e Chita Rivera. Lo spettacolo ebbe solo un modesto successo. Il revival degli anni '90 invece divenne uno degli spettacoli di maggior successo di Broadway ed è il musical americano dal più alto numero di repliche che sia mai stato rappresentato sia a Londra che a Broadway. Nel decennio scorso due italiani hanno interpretato ruoli principali nell'edizione di Londra: Ernesto Tomasini (nei panni di Mary Sunshine) e Luca Barbareschi (Billy Flynn). Nel 2002 il regista Rob Marshall ne ha tratto un film (Chicago) che vinse 6 premi Oscar, fra cui quello per il miglior film.
