Een conclaaf of conclave (Latijn: cum clave, met sleutel, dat wil zeggen achter gesloten deuren of achter slot en grendel) is de plaats waar de kardinalen van de Katholieke Kerk bijeenkomen om de paus te kiezen. Met het nodige dienstpersoneel en hun gevolg (conclavisten) zijn zij van elk contact met de buitenwereld afgesloten om zo iedere beïnvloeding te vermijden. Ook de vergadering zelf van de kardinalen en de tijdsruimte eraan besteed wordt conclaaf genoemd. Deze conclaven vinden tegenwoordig altijd plaats in de Sixtijnse Kapel in Vaticaanstad.
