Das Kreuztor wurde 1385 erbaut und ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt Ingolstadt. Der Name des Tores leitet sich vom ehemaligen, westlich der Stadt gelegenen Aussätzigenhaus zum heiligen Kreuz ab, das 1546 im Schmalkaldischen Krieg zerstört wurde.
