==Chemical properties== At 20 °C, cyclononane, under the action of aluminum chloride, isomerizes to propylcyclohexane, and at 50 °C to trimethylcyclohexanes.[6] On platinized carbon, cyclononane forms a mixture of indane and methylbenzene with other aromatic hydrocarbons.
