David Morrell (born April 24, 1943) is a Canadian-American author whose debut 1972 novel First Blood, later adapted as the 1982 film of the same name, went on to spawn the successful Rambo franchise starring Sylvester Stallone.

David Morrell (n. 24 de abril de 1943; Kitchener, Ontario) es un escritor canadiense. Desde 1966 ha estado afincado en Estados Unidos. En 1972 publicó su primera y más famosa novela, First Blood, donde aparece el personaje de John Rambo, que años más tarde sería llevado al cine e interpretado por Sylvester Stallone. Aunque no ha dejado de escribir, su trabajo más recordado desde entonces es su libro-cómic sobre el Capitán América. Además de escribir, Morrell es profesor adjunto de la Universidad de Iowa, donde actualmente reside.
