David Rockefeller

David Rockefeller (1915–2017) was an American banker, art collector, and statesperson. Born in Manhattan to John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Abigail Greene Aldrich, he was a member of the Rockefeller family. He attended Harvard University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University. Rockefeller served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Trilateral Commission and the American Philosophical Society. He was affiliated with the Republican Party.

He received the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Legion of Merit, and the Commendation Medal. Rockefeller was also an autobiographer who authored works such as *How fast can we grow?* and *The European common market and American business*. He had two children, Richard and Abby Rockefeller, and siblings including Nelson, John D. III, Winthrop, and Laurance Rockefeller. He died of heart failure in natural causes at Pocantico Hills.
