Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore and hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore as a distinct genre emerged in the early 2000s and gained prominence beginning in the mid-2000s.

Deathcore – podgatunek muzyki ekstremalnej, wynikły z połączenia dwóch gatunków muzycznych, metalcore’u i death metalu. Zespoły wykonujące deathcore to m.in.: All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black, Bring Me the Horizon (dawniej), Frontside (dawniej), Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, , Impending Doom, , The Acacia Strain, After the Burial, , , Despised Icon, Heaven Shall Burn, , Job for a Cowboy, Neaera, , Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Lorna Shore i Winds of Plague.
