Badly damaged in Cromwell’s 1650 siege, Dirleton’s fortunes were revived by its new owners in the 1660s. The Nisbet family built a new mansion house nearby to live in and made the picturesque castle ruins the central feature in their new designed landscape. Замок Дирлетон (англ. Dirleton Castle) находится в области Восточный Лотиан, недалеко от города Дирлетон в Шотландии. Построен в 13-м веке, служил местом жительства трех благородных семей: Де Во, Хэлибартон и Рутвен. Замок занимал небольшую территорию, его размеры были 40 на 28 метров. Увеличивать замок не было возможности, Дирлетон стоял на скале. Ров, перед замком, достаточно широкий (15 метров). В период войн за независимость Шотландии от Англии, замок часто переходил из рук в руки и входе военных событий сильно пострадал и даже был сознательно частично разрушен по приказу Роберта Брюса. В настоящее время замок и прилегающий к нему парк, сад и голубятня входят в список исторических памятников Великобритании.
