Draveil (Aussprache: d̪ʁavɛj) ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 28.602 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2019) im Département Essonne in der Région Île-de-France. Sie gehört zum Arrondissement Évry, ist der Hauptort des Kantons Draveil und der Sitz des Bistums Évry-Corbeil-Essonnes. Die Siedlung wurde auf der landwirtschaftlich genutzten und bewaldeten Hochebene der Brie und dem Tal der Seine schon in der Jungsteinzeit gegründet und hat eine bewegte Geschichte: Nach der gallo-romanischen Periode wechselten sich mächtige Abteien und Landadlige im Besitz ab, bis im 19. Jahrhundert hier ein Ferienzentrum des Bürgertums entstand; der Ort wurde zum Mittelpunkt der Künstler und Wissenschaftler von Paris. Ab den 1920er Jahren wurden Grundstücke zur Verfügung gestellt, auf denen kleine Einfamilienhäuser errichtet wurden, woraus sich dann die erste Gartenstadt Frankreichs entwickelte. Während der 1960er Jahre entstanden dann die großen Wohnsiedlungen. Heute ist die Gemeinde eine Wohnstadt in angenehmer Umgebung zwischen dem Forêt de Sénart und den Ufern der Seine, beliebt wegen der Freizeiteinrichtung . Die Einwohner werden Draveillois genannt.
