Eugen Suchoň was born in 1908 and died in 1993. He was a teacher, seminal musical theoretic and composer. His very important works: Baladická suita (Balladic Suite), Žalm zeme podkarpatskej (Psalm of Carpathian Land), Metamorfózy (Metamorphozis), opera Krútňava - the first Slovak opera, and cycle Obrázky zo Slovenska (Pictures of Slovakia).
