Évry

Évry is a former commune in the Essonne department of France, situated in the Île-de-France region. It served as the capital of the Essonne department, the arrondissement of Évry, and the cantons of Évry-Courcouronnes and Évry-Nord. The area covered 8.33 square kilometers with an elevation of 95 meters above sea level. Its population was recorded as 55,425, while another source lists it as 51,900. The commune bordered Ris-Orangis, Corbeil-Essonnes, Courcouronnes, and Étiolles, and was located next to the Seine river.

The administrative entity was dissolved on December 31, 2018, and replaced by Évry-Courcouronnes. It has at various times been part of Seine-et-Oise and Essonne. Évry maintained twinned relationships with Troisdorf, Khan Yunis, the London Borough of Bexley, and Kayes. The postal code for the area is 91000.
