Fania Borach (October 29, 1891 – May 29, 1951), known professionally as Fanny Brice or Fannie Brice, was an American comedienne, illustrated song model, singer, and theater and film actress who made many stage, radio, and film appearances. She was famously portrayed by Barbra Streisand in the musical Funny Girl.

Fanny Brice was born on October 29, 1891 to Jewish immigrants on New York's East Side. She grew up in Newark, NJ as well as Bergenstreet/St. Mark's Avenue in Brooklyn. As a toddler, Fanny's earliest performances were when she would sing and dance on the billiards table in the free lunch saloon bar owned by her parents.
