FBReader is an e-book reader for Linux, Microsoft Windows, Android, and other platforms.
It was originally written for the Sharp Zaurus and currently runs on many other mobile devices, like the Nokia Internet Tablets, as well as desktop computers. A preview of FBReaderJ (the Java port) for Google Android was released on April 13, 2008.
The first public version of FBReader was created in early 2005 by Nikolay Pultsin . In July 2007, Nikolay established Geometer Plus LLC, the first company behind FBReader, in St.Petersburg, Russia. The company ceased operations following the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In 2013, Nikolay relocated to the United Kingdom and founded FBReader.ORG Limited. This company currently develops and supports FBReader.
