Go (chinesisch 圍棋 / 围棋, Pinyin wéiqí, Jyutping wai4kei4*2; japanisch 囲碁 igo; koreanisch 바둑 baduk; wörtlich „Umzingelungsspiel“) ist ein Brettspiel für zwei Spieler und gilt als das komplexeste aller weltweit bekannten Strategiespiele. Das Spiel stammt ursprünglich aus dem antiken China und hat sich im Laufe seiner Geschichte auch in Japan und Korea entfaltet. In diesen Ländern genießt das Go ein dem westlichen Schach vergleichbares Ansehen. Erst seit dem späten 19. Jahrhundert findet Go außerhalb Ostasiens Verbreitung. Unter den westlichen Ländern zählt Deutschland die meisten aktiven Spieler. Die International Go Federation (IGF) bezifferte im Jahr 2011 die Zahl der Go-Spieler weltweit auf rund 40 Millionen. Die British Go Association (BGA) gab 2013 die Zahl der weltweiten Spieler mit 60 Millionen an.
