The Kukkuṭika (Sanskrit; ) were an early Buddhist school which descended from the Mahāsāṃghika.

==Etymology== It is likely that the name Kukkuṭika or Kukkulika originated from the Kukkuṭrārāma monastery at Pāṭaliputra, which was an early centre for the Mahāsāṃghikas.
