Gordon S. Wood is an American History Professor and author. He was born in Massachusetts in 1933. He received his PhD in History from Harvard in 1964 where he studied under Bernard Bailyn. Since 1969, he has taught at Brown University, where he is now Alva O. Way University Professor and Professor Emeritus of History. Gordon Stewart Wood (né le 27 novembre 1933) est un historien américain. Enseignant à l'Université Brown, il remporte en 1993 le prix Pulitzer d'histoire pour The Radicalism of the American Revolution, paru l'année précédente. Son livre, The Creation of the American Republic, 1776–1787, publié en 1969, a remporté en 1970 le prix Bancroft. En 2010, il reçoit la National Humanities Medal.
