At the age of eighteen Guillaume Lasceux was already an organist in the village of Chevreuse. Later he went to Paris and studied with Charles Noblet the harpsichordist of the Opera. He held the position of an extra organist to Claude-Nicholas Ingrain at St Etienne-du-Mont and simultaneously held organist posts with Mathurins, St Aure, Minimes de Place Royale, the College de Navarre and Seminaire S Magliore.
