Günter Kochan (2 October 1930 – 22 February 2009) was a German classical composer. His compositions include cantatas, film scores, orchestral music, songs, symphonies and music for radio dramas. Kochan was born in Luckau, in the Province of Brandenburg, on 2 October 1930. He attended the Hochschule für Musik Berlin in Charlottenburg beginning in 1946, and subsequently studied at the Deutsche Hochschule für Musik in East Berlin, East Germany, where he was a Meisterschüler of Hanns Eisler.[1] <a
