Hamlet

Hamlet is a 1948 British drama film directed, written, and produced by Laurence Olivier. Based on William Shakespeare’s play, the black-and-white picture features a cast including Basil Sydney, Eileen Herlie, Jean Simmons, and Stanley Holloway. The film was produced by Two Cities Films and J. Arthur Rank Organisation, with music by William Walton and cinematography by Desmond Dickinson. Roger Furse served as both production and costume designer. The narrative is set in Denmark.
