Hesperocnide is a small genus of nettles containing two species. These are annual herbs covered in stinging hairs and toothed leaves. Hesperocnide sandwicensis , the Hawaii nettle, is endemic to Hawaii. Hesperocnide tenella , the western nettle, is native to California and Baja California.
