==Etymology== The name is derived from the German given name Gottschalk, meaning 'God's servant'. The name was later adapted into Czech as Hoščálek or Hošťálek, and by adding the possessive suffix -ovice, it became Hošťálkovice, meaning "Hošťálek's settlement".
