Sign in to saveHyperreality is a concept in post-structuralism that refers to the process of the evolution of notions of reality, leading to a cultural state of confusion between signs and symbols invented to stand in for reality, and direct perceptions of consensus reality. Hyperreality is seen as a condition in which, because of the compression of perceptions of reality in culture and media, what is generally regarded as real and what is understood as fiction are seamlessly blended together in experiences so that there is no longer any clear distinction between where one ends and the other begins.

Hiper-realidade é o conceito que se aplica à filosofia contemporânea. Em semiótica e na filosofia pós-moderna, o hiper-realismo (não confunda com surrealismo) é um termo para descrever um indício de uma expansão da cultura pós-moderna. A hiper-realidade é um meio de caracterizar a via das interações conscientes com a "realidade". Especificamente,quando uma consciência perde sua habilidade de distinguir a realidade da fantasia, e passa a se relacionar com ela, posteriormente, sem dispor da compreensão que ela requer, de modo que acaba por ser deslocado para o mundo do hiper-real. A natureza do mundo hiper-real é caracterizada pelo "aperfeiçoamento" da realidade. Alguns famosos da hiper-realidade são Jean Baudrillard, , Daniel Boorstin e Umberto Eco.
