biografiasyvidas.com →Los zéjeles conservados tratan temas muy diversos: los hay amorosos (tanto heterosexuales como homosexuales), báquicos-anacreónticos, panegíricos, mendicantes (la mayoría)... todos ellos característicos del medio en el que se compusieron, que Muhammad ibn Quzman recrea con toda la vitalidad de aquella sociedad. Como curiosidades, cabe señalar que, en uno de ellos, agasaja al gran filósofo Averroes cuando éste no era más que un joven prometedor; en otro, el cordobés nos obsequia con una magnífica canción de alba.
