In de wiskunde is een isometrie of isometrische afbeelding een functie die twee metrische ruimten op elkaar afbeeldt en die daarbij de afstanden bewaart. Bij een isometrie wordt een figuur steeds afgebeeld op een congruente figuur.De samenstelling van twee (of meer) isometrieën is weer een isometrie.
