Jaufré Rudel

Jaufré Rudel, also known as Jaufrés Rudèls de Blaia, was a male troubadour, poet, composer, and writer from France. Born in Blaye during the 12th century, he is associated with the medieval music movement. His works were written in Old Occitan, and he spoke both Occitan and Old Occitan.

Rudel participated in the Second Crusade and was active around the year 1200. He authored 15 works, including *Les chansons*, *Liriche*, *Chansons pour un amour lointain*, and *Vita, leggenda, le canzoni di Jaufré Rudel, bardo dugentesco*. His music is categorized under the troubadour genre and is often tagged with medieval, French, and classical styles.
