John Stuart (John Alfred Louden Croall; 18 July 1898 – 17 October 1979) was born to Scottish parents, and was a very popular leading man in British silent films in the 1920s. He successfully made the transition to talking pictures in the 1930s and his film career went on to span almost six decades. He appeared in 172 films (including shorts), 123 stage plays, and 103 television plays and series.

John Stuart, nato John Alfred Louden Croall (Edimburgo, 18 novembre 1898 – Londra, 17 ottobre 1979), è stato un attore scozzese. Fu molto popolare nel periodo del cinema muto. Il suo primo film parlato, Kitty, uscito nel 1929, riscosse un gran successo. Il suo ultimo ruolo fu quello di un anziano kriptoniano nel film del 1978 Superman È sepolto nel cimitero di Brompton a Londra. Il figlio Jonathan Croall sta scrivendo un libro sugli idoli dello schermo degli anni venti, tra I quali figura anche il padre John Stuart.
