Understand

La Ciotat is halfway between Marseille and Toulon. A former shipbuilding centre, now it is a nice resort. It is often associated with Lumière Brothers and their first films.

Get around

There are plenty of buses in La Ciotat, to the railway station north of the town, and to the neighbouring town of Ceyreste. Maps and timetables can be found at bus stops and at the Tourist Office.
