Leadhillit ist ein selten vorkommendes Mineral aus der Mineralklasse der Carbonate (und Nitrate). Es kristallisiert im monoklinen Kristallsystem mit der chemischen Zusammensetzung Pb4[(OH)2|(CO3)2|SO4] und entwickelt überwiegend pseudohexagonale, tafelige Kristalle, die entweder farblos oder durch Fremdbeimengungen weiß, graugelb oder blassblau gefärbt sein können. Selten finden sich auch in schalige Aggregate.
