Der Leopard 1 ist ein deutscher Kampfpanzer. Er war der erste nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in Deutschland entwickelte Panzer. Insgesamt wurde er in 13 Staaten auf fünf verschiedenen Kontinenten eingesetzt. Durch beständige Kampfwertsteigerungen ist er im 21. Jahrhundert noch immer in Armeen vieler Staaten zu finden. Von 1964 bis 1984 wurden 4700 Leopard-1-Kampfpanzer (alle Varianten) gebaut. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann bietet den Nutzerstaaten des Leopard 1 eine Vielzahl von Nachrüst-Kits an, um Produktkonfigurationen den jeweils spezifischen Schwerpunkten hinsichtlich Feuerkraft, Schutz, Mobilität und Logistik anzupassen.
