جولیوس لوتار میر

Lothar Meyer was a German chemist and university teacher. Born in Varel in 1830, he died in Tübingen in 1895 from a stroke. He studied at the University of Würzburg, Heidelberg University, and the University of Zurich, where he held a Doctor of Medicine degree and habilitation. His doctoral advisor was Robert Bunsen, and he was also a student of Carl Ludwig and August Kekulé.

Meyer’s notable work includes the Periodic table. He was a member of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences and the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences. Among his awards was the Davy Medal. He taught Alfred Einhorn. His written works include "Beiträge zur Kenntnis des Hanfes während seiner Verarbeitung" and "Die Temperaturabhängigkeit der Molekularpolarisation, insbesondere von Stoffen mit frei drehbaren Gruppen."
